The visit by HRH The Duke of Gloucester KG GCVO

His Royal Highness the Duke of Gloucester visited Queen’s Mill on Thursday 18th September and was informed about the Queen’s Mill project to refurbish the building and create a heritage, arts and community venue.   He was given a tour of the Mill and met our Trustees, members and volunteers and heard local school children sing Castleford heritage songs.   He then visited the Castleford Footbridge with architect Renato Benedetti, who is working on designs for the Mill.  He then officially unveiled the building’s new blue plaque and a second plaque which commemorated his visit.   Following the ceremony The Duke had lunch before departing for his next engagement.
